Cocasa was created by a team of friends that were conscious of our impact on gentrification. As remote work became the norm during the pandemic, we understood that those with the ability and privilege to work remotely with higher salaries could negatively impact the local communities we now call home.

We wanted to find an alternative to predatory practices of short term rental housing that often removes access to housing to locals amidst a housing crisis. We are advocates for tenant rights and believe that housing is a human right.

Although remote work is inevitable, we hope that by sharing our homes amongst each other in this niche lifestyle will lessen the impact of gentrification among hubs of digital nomads.
